Built for children struggling with technology, Electricity with Smorph is a series that combines 2D cartoons with stop-frame animations to teach kids aged 4-8 about electricity, circuits, and more. It stars Smorph, a young, gender-fluid, shape-shifting ball of beatboxing Electro DoughTM, who in each episode encounters a problem that they solve with the help of a narrator, using technology skills they learn through hands-on exploration.
Immersive storytelling and practical experimentation can teach children complex topics, leading to tangible and measurable educational outcomes. Our goal with this series was to demonstrate the practical applications of technology and how it can be used to solve real-world issues, while also promoting emotional resilience through the creative process.
"Electricity with Smorph" launched in 2021, with further series based on robotics, computers, and the internet planned for the future.
